So you're probably thinking 'Oh God, this girl is a Kardashians fan, what a
joke'. Well yes, I am a fan. I have a lot of respect for Khloe Kardashian; even
though no-one bar her and her family can truly know what she's been through,
it's safe to say her life is pretty well documented. As an avid watcher of
KUWTK and all the spin-off shows, I've seen the types of things that Khloe has
been through and I'm simply in awe at how she has coped with things, ranging
from life traumas to body shaming.
2.) Mindy Kaling
You all probably know by now that I'm quite literally obsessed with The
Mindy Project; it's quite simply a work of art (though some may disagree).
Mindy Kaling is basically Oprah in the making; she started as a side character
on a TV show and is now a business woman in her own right, writing and
producing shows. She's not only hilarious but a truly fabulous role model for
young girls; showing you can be clever, funny, pretty and (let's not beat
around the bush..) rich!
3.) Demi Lovato
Anyone who knows me is probably sick of me spamming their lives with Demi
related things; I'm definitely a 'Lovatic' and proud! When people hear of Demi,
they remember the teenage girl from Camp Rock and for years that is how I saw
her. Until I became unwell a few years ago with mental health issues, I was
simply googling around late one night and ended up coming across posts about Demi
also struggling with similar issues. After what can only be described quite
simply as stalking Demi online, I found how she had come out the other side and
was well on her way to recovery. I was inspired. That was a few years ago when
she released herself titled album 'Demi' (inventive I know..) just recently I'm
inspired in a completely different way. A matter of weeks ago she released her
new album, 'Confident', and I never knew I could be so affected by a few songs
but my God, she's magic! Even just listening to the album, I feel empowered and
I genuinely feel confident. Granted as soon as I leave the house and my hair
gets wet and turns into an afro and all my make up slips off, I stop feeling
like the hot, sassy queen that's in my soul and start to feel more like the
average potato that's on the outside... But hey, we're making progress and well
on the way to truly feeling CONFIDENT! :)
