How to: Scrummy Melting Moments!

I first discovered Melting Moments in Year 7 at high school. In Food Tech we all made a batch and I have to say, I fell in love. They're an old favourite and nowadays I find them a great option for breakfast. They're small and neat but filling and tasty!
Let me know in the comments down below if you try it out or if you have any more recipes for me to try! :)

Here's what you'll need:
  • 105 g margarine
  • 75 g caster sugar
  • 1 medium egg
  • 150 g self raising flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • Oats
  • GlacĂ© cherries
  1. First things first, heat the oven to 180 degrees centigrade (Gas Mark 4) and grease a couple of baking trays.
  2. Cream the margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla essence.
  4. Stir in the flour and mix well.
  5. Roll small pieces of the mixture into balls and toss in the oats (this step is easier if you have slightly damp hands so keep a small bowl of water nearby!).
  6. Flatten slightly on tray and after placing a cherry on the top of each, bake for 10-15 mins.

This will made approx. 30 biscuits, depending on how big you make them.

Enjoy!
