LUSH Review: Mask of Magnaminty Face & Body Mask

As you may have read in my previous LUSH review, I was a complete LUSH virgin until recently. The Magnaminty face mask is up there in my Top 5 face masks. Again, all ingredients are completely natural and fresh so there's nothing nasty in there that's going to harm your skin.

The fresh and cooling nature of peppermint means that when you apply this mask, your face feels instantly refreshed. There's a number of oils to hydrate your skin and various natural exfoliants such as evening primrose seeds and aduki beans. Honey is in there too, which is a natural antiseptic meaning it's great from problem/acne skin. Kaolin clay is something I always look for in my face masks and yup, you guessed it, this mask has that too! The clay absorbs excess oil which, if you have combination skin like mine, it will work wonders.

The mask is quite thick and to be honest, it doesn't look too dandy! It looks like a thick, sludge green coloured paste with bits mixed in. That being said, it applies wondrously and a little goes a long way so it's great value for money too.

How to use:
  • Take the equivalent of two £2 coins and spread thickly over your T-zone and cheeks, avoiding the eye area. As the mask has peppermint oil in, you'll certainly know about it if you get too close to eyes!
  • As you're applying, rub gently in circular motions to exfoliate as you're applying.
  • Once applied, leave on for about 5-10 minutes (as recommended), however I tend to find it doesn't dry in 10 minutes so I find about 20 minutes is a bit more realistic.
  • Once the mask has dried, I use a warm, wet flannel and gently press this onto my face to 'loosen' the mask so it's easy to remove.
  • Once the mask is slightly damp again, use your fingers to gently exfoliate in circular motions, as before.
  • Finally, rinse off the rest of the mask with warm water before patting your face dry with a clean towel and applying your favourite moisturiser.

Have you used this mask before or any others that are similar? What do you think of it? Let me know in the comments down below!
